2. Join the AVG 2012 Small Update 2 Beta
3.Download the installation file
4.Install it

Have just spoken with AVG Development Team here.
Their response
AVG 2012 is not officially supported on the current Win 8 being tested & will not be supported until Win 8's release to the public.

Im on AVG beta list and though it may work on some systems there are enough problems for them not to want to support it. They "may" support it by RTM

AVG Free 2012 is fully functional on my PC! Seems to be more features than anything else I've used on WDP!
