Windows Defender Opinions

I searched and there are over 6000 threads so I decided to start a new one... Sorry. Anyway my question is twofold as follows:

1) How do you like Windows Defender?

2) On Windows 8 is Windows Defender enough or do I need to purchase Norton, MacAfee, etc...?

Thanks

yes it is fine for antivirus program with a wee bit of antimalware in it but I would also get Malwarebytes pro to complement it

Thanks. I picked up the pro version like you suggested and it looks like it has a 1 time or life time charge so hopefully I won't have to pay again next year?

Thanks again!

Love it. No longer have to re-register annually with Avast and have a clean system. Granted 90% of that is a result of common sense vs software. ;)

the Pro version of Malwarebytes for the home user has lifetime updates and upgrades
For the business user it is updates but it is only for 1 year for upgrades

I sure like it! It's built-in: something the rest lack + it's speed and lite resource usage.

Depends on user but personally I use it without any other AV solution. Defender does a good work all by itself.
