For some reason I cannot install this. I could on W7 but not on W8/WDP?

That was my initial findings, AVG gives you free versions but with less featuresw all the time, i don't think a paid one will impact the installation.

Just spoken with my local AVG reseller.
The advice is NOT to use it with WIN 8 at this early stage.

In recent years, AVG was problematic anyhow. You are probably better off using MSE which works well.

In my computer club we had 6 triple booted system heavily infected - AVG was the installed AV program on all systems. It took 3 people one week to get everything back in order. Since then I would not touch AVG with a 10 foot pole.
