once you meet Noton's/McAfee's support you'll know why I am laughing.

There's a beta version upcoming that will be compatible. Not available to the public yet though.

Why is it be strange? Symantec does NOT own McAfee, sorry, Intel does. Betas are betas, no two are the same especially from two totally different and rival companies.

Who owns McAfee Wiki there said it is owned by multiple companies, and if you look up it's
IPO, it is also owned by Symantec/Norton.

I hate to tell you but that is wrong. McAfee was an independent company until quite recently when Intel bought it out. Symantec has always been and always will be their biggest rival.
i'm an Admin on their support forums so should know.

The only mention of Symantec on the Wikipedia page is "On April 5, 2006, McAfee bought out SiteAdvisor for a reputed $70 million[9] in competition with Symantec,...."
and at the bottom under References it states in part:
"Intel Completes Acquisition of McAfee". McAfee News. 28 February 2011 - which is what I mentioned.
Which Wikipedia page is it? They need to be corrected possibly.
Back to the original subject, the retail product isn't yet Windows 8 compatible but an upcoming version of their beta product will be.
