Thank's Airbot that was my thought also. I'm running 32bit in VBox. Win defender installs by default now and is auto updated.

Yes, it seems MSE is the only working and installable AV I've tried so far on DP #8102. All the others included previously in the first here in the thread failed to install or run due to compatibility even when set to Windows 7.

Why would anyone even install MSE when it's built into Win 8 DP 8102?

Program Files\Windows Defender\MSASCui ...exe, or something like that.

Check it out. It's there. Looks just like MSE.

I'm on Win 7 right now watching the football (American football) game so I cannot tell you exactly but the above should be close enough.

Ah, back in, Windows 8. Defender from "C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe":

With Win 8, you don't really need another AV ... at the moment.

Still, try 'em out. Just be sure you disable Defender when you do (if you can find out how):

You can do it via Services, just be careful about what you are doing in there though.

Thing is, with Win 8 8102, it's already installed.

Yeah, you're right, it's not obvious.

That's that "smart phone" and "tablet" thing MS is going after.
When's the last time you installed an AV on your smart phone?
