Weird no-audio problem

Out of the blue, I'm not getting any audio with Opera 12.17 at cdbaby (e.g., John Stowell & Manfred Junker | Here At Last | CD Baby Music Store) or when playing videos with Zoom Player, both of which are mainstays for me. Audio otherwise works fine, as far as I can find - foobar, YouTube, Yahoo news videos, cdbaby with FF38 and Opera 30, VLC with the same videos, etc. Don't know if this is coincidence or is there something in common between the two. Any ideas? Thanks,

Pretty fancy audio card you have there. Have you tried the optional drivers from here: JCAT – reference computer audio accessories | JPLAY ?

Might also try using your onboard audio if the MB has it to see if everything works with it.

EDIT: Your motherboard appears to have a nice sound chip itself. Again, I would try it just to see if any difference.

Perhaps I wasn't clear. Audio works everywhere except (so far) in these two circumstances:
- Opera 12 on the cdbaby website
- Zoom Player

The online site doesn't use JPlay, and I don't think ZP does either. I haven't played anything at cdbaby for some time, but did play check video yesterday or the day before.

Well, I usually re-install drivers and/or the offending software when having such issues. A restore point or image backup before this started happening? Are you sure the sites haven't changed the format they are streaming?

We're only talking about one website here with Opera 12 - all others I've checked work - and that one site works with FF38 and Opera 30b. Then I started checking media players, audio and video, and only Zoom Player was silent, which got me wondering.

Update: Zoom Player was speaker setting that had changed when dac wasn't being seen, but didn't revert. That leaves Opera 12 and cdbaby. Perhaps a site programming matter. Thanks.

I think you need to upgrade Opera---

Thinking for other people is impolite. Opera webkit, 16 versions in - I have 30b - is still not a full-function browser: e.g., Speed Dial is barely usable; still no print scaling on the fly, including with print preview; and no toolbar mods or even putting tab bar on the bottom. So while O12 may be long in the tooth, bells and whistles still are the developers' priorities with the new Opera. And my sense is they truly don't get it. Hoping Vivaldi eventually fills the gap.
