Windows 8.1 Won't Install Headphones

Hi guys. Today I did a new install of Windows 8.1. I tried to plug in my Headphones ready to listen to some music, but when I plug them in, a Drivers install windows pops up and then it says "This USB device was not recognized."

I've tried uninstalling the driver and plugging the headphones in again but still no luck. I've also tried installing the Windows 8.1 Relatek Drivers but that didn't seem to do much either. If anyonce could help me or tell me why Windows isn't working with my headphones, I would be much appreciated.

Edit: The Headphones I am trying to use are: [h=1]Gioteck EX-05S Wired Headset Multiformat[/h]

There are several tutorials on the Gioteck web site on setting this up. Have you looked into these?

USB connected headsets do not use the PC's sound card (RealTek in this case). They go directly from PC digital and have the conversion to analog in the headset.

Hi Firebird. Thanks for taking your time to respond to my thread. I took a look at their website last night and it didn't really help me, as the tutorial for the PC only showed me how to actually plug in the Headset. I also contacted their support team and they told me to download some USB drivers and do a Windows Update. However, I left my PC to update overnight and that didn't seem to fix the problem.

As it apparently is not installing or installing correctly, try this:

Plug in the headset and then go to the Device Manager and display the Sound section. If its listed there, it will probably be listed with an error code. Disregard the error code, RIGHT click on the entry to highlight it and then LEFT click "Uninstall". Disconnect the headphone and then restart the PC. This will give you a new start to try and install it.

If its not listed in the Sound section, most likely there will be an "Unknown Device" listed in the USB section. Do the same uninstall procedure to this. Restart the PC and try a new install.
