What is the specific model number of the Logitech? Can make a difference.

Could be anything from a defective unit, to the 5VDC voltage missing on the mic connector, to a problem with the sound drivers.

Try it on another PC, a friends if you don't have another, to verify that it is OK. If it doesn't work on another PC I would suspect a defective unit. This is the first step. No need to try and troubleshoot the PC until you can verify that it is good or bad.

I presume that your notebook has separate audio-out and mic-in jacks and both of your H110 headset's color coded plugs and connected to the correct jacks on the laptop. Have you checked the Sound module in Control Panel to confirm that the computer has recognized the headset as both a mic and as "headset/speaker"?
