Hi there

I have the Logictech Media streaming server (have a load of hardware around the house) However it CAN play locally -- but you needed SQUEEZEPLAYER on Windows (now not really available anymore). The server is still maintained both in Linux and Windows.

As I usually use Linux I was looking for a player to play on my LOCAL computer too -- Things like TUNEIN don't work very well these days on Linux

However VLC comes brilliantly to the rescue -- seems it can play the OPML streams and also shows what's playing too.

Select the favourite from the server panel -- double click and choose play with ==>VLC -- Voila - Brilliant. Saves hunting around and creating playlists in tunein or whatever -- just use the favourites from the Server !! (The remote devices are handled with a small controller which controls the various "Squeezeboxes / Radios" around the house - but If i'm at the computer I want to play locally).

The more I use VLC the more I like it --seems to handle every codec known to Man or Beast.

Cheers
jimbo
