My Dad used to use the laptop that me and my Mom share, and he did something to the settings on the computer (I don't know what, or else I would have fixed it myself.) which allow you to use a USB mic, and he disabled the microphone jack on the computer.
I really want to find out how to change it, because I'm planning on doing TF2 livestreams, and I need the mic to do so, and if I can't find a way to fix this, then I'm going to either have to use one of the crappy USB mics we have, or I'm going to have to convince my Dad to let me use his 300$ mic, which won't be easy. :/
