Adjust Sound Level?

Everytime I depressed the volume up/down key on my keyboard, it raises the volume in windows by 6%. Is there anyway to modify this? For example I would like the volume to rise or lower by only 3% everytime I depress the volume control button on my keyboard. I have messed around with the settings and can't figure out how to make this work. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks is advance.

I have tried what you said and my volume only increase/decrease by 2 when I press the volume on the keyboard. However, I don't use the keyboard to adjust the volume level. Instead, I use Volumouse - control the sound volume with a wheel mouse and I can adjust the volume level.

I have no ideal what you are talking about as I didn't recommend anything to you (or anyone else) anything. I was the one who asked the question initially.

You did not recommend anything in your post and I told you that I have tried to duplicate what happened when I press the volume key on the keyboard and it did not happen the way you described, it only raises the volume by 2 instead of 6. In addition, I recommended to use Volume Mouse. That's all.
So what part don't you understand ?

Thanks for the recommendation but I use the scroll wheel on the mouse to play video games so it wouldn't be practical for me to use it as a means to raise and lower the volume. I was hoping there was a way in windows in which I could set the volume to raise and lower in increments of 1-3 (while using the keyboard) oppose to just increments of 6.
Thanks anyhow.
