Solved Missing sound in speakers after a few videos.

Well this has gone for a few weeks and I had my laptop for about a year now. The problem is after watching 3-4 videos, the sound will not work on the next file. I tried restarting and it worked! But after another 3-4 videos, there was no sound again. Another thing is when I open a music file, it works again. But the cycle just goes on.

Sorry I don't know which other details you might need (this is my first laptop).

What program are you using for the videos? It sounds like that program is not releasing the audio after you exit it.

I am using VLC player. I also tried windows media player (during the time that there were no sounds for the vlc) but still the same.

Trying to get some basics. Are you watching the videos on the Laptop's screen or do you have an HDMI connection to TV?

Try ONLY using WMC, for videos, when the audio is working and see if you still have the problem.

I don't know what happened. I just updated from windows 8 to 8.1 and everything went well. So I guess the problem is solved, then

8.1 is a major update and probably fixed it.
