3.5mm jack problem

Hello,

Newbie here so hi! I have a very strange problem..

I have an Asus x102ba notebook. I normally have it connected to my TV via hdmi cable to view on a bigger screen. I have a 3.1 surround system which I connect to the laptop via the 3.5mm headphone jack.

As soon as I connect all this up, there is no bass at all from the surround system but I do have sound. This is the weird bit! After about 30 mins of being connected, the colour on the screen changes very slightly (it appears a "warm" colour a but like a setting on a TV where you can choose warm neutral or cool) when this happens the bass suddenly kicks in and works fine but only when the colour changes on the TV?! I'm very confused! Any ideas? It's like there is a delay in something working on the laptop...

What audio chip? Current audio drivers? Uninstall/Re-Install.

Connecting a TV via the the headphone jack is not the best way. You should be able to get audio through HDMI unless the wrong driver installed or ancient computer/TV.

This is also a function of the graphics driver in many cases. Latest graphics drivers?

It's the realtekd hd audio chip and I can get hdmi sound through the TV not a problem but the surround system sounds so much better for music hence why I connect it via headphone jack as it's the only audio jack I have. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but doesn't work.

Like I say I have sound when I plug it in but until it's been plugged in for about 30 mins and the screen colour changes that's when I get bass... It's sooooo Strange it's like something kicks in after a certain amount of time

I have bass back! After hours of fiddling I uninstalled "realtek high definition audio" under device manager and installed "high definition audio device" instead and hey presto bass appeared instantly.... Must be a realtek issue!
