Windows 8.1 mic problem

Hey!
Just updated to Windows 8.1 from Windows 7. But now, after the installation my mic is not working.
It stands it is working but is not. Any help?

Welcome to EightForums. Are you using Microsoft drivers for your sound, or the driver from your manufacture site?

I`m using Microsoft drivers, it`s the best, that is what I mean.

Nope, no need to. Just needed to install a driver from windows update, it`s working now

I have a laptop with 8.0 and I want to update to 8.1--the problem I have having is I am not sure where to go and get a clean update. It keeps saying on my laptop that I need to download my apps first and I believe I have done this. I can see the icon for Windows 8.1 but it will not let me download it. Any suggestions?
