Hi all,
I have tried the drivers from RealTek and also the drivers from MSI. (My motherboard is MSI P35 Platinum).
Driver installation / removal always proceeds without any errors.
But the Audio Service just can't start.
In some places, the RealTek device reports status "working properly".
Whereas other places report "no audio device".

Realtek Digital Output is the HDMI audio device. What are you using as your audio device? Are you using HDMI or a standard 3.5mm jack to play sounds?
If you want to play sounds you would have to plug something into one of those jacks since windows disables the sound service when nothing is plugged in.

Windows Update may be removing your updated drivers with Microsoft ones. Check the driver tab. Is it from Microsoft or Realtek?

3.5mm stereo plug is detected

The "Realtek HD Audio Manager" (top-left window in my screenshot) *does* detect plug/unplug of the 3.5mm stereo plug.
