Solved Program "say the time" stv voice file not working in win 8

:cry: The program works fine in Win 7 which uses " windows shell common " for the voice any thoughts for Win 8 as I can't find a "windows shell common" file in Win 8. Thanks

Yes I have contacted supplier that would be my first step, but do I want to wait 3 weeks for a reply / I thought the Forum would be the place to get some answers.
The format for VOICE they are using is STV and Win 8 says no way, never heard of the format ! Windows 7 is using " Windows shell common " for the voice and that works just fine. Again can't find "windows shell common " in Win 8.. I assume Win 7 is going to a common file to play the Voice.

I think this format should run a contest as to how long Win 8 will survive . Fine for notepads but lets forget it for a desktop where we have some work to do .. I spend $2000 way back when for my first HP. Looks like another$ 2000 for my first Apple. Staple's are spending a fortune of time putting win 7 back on the units sold with Win 8.

Three years and it will be history like ME .... Thanks for your reply.

How about this ! I installed the program on my wife's Win 8 system and it works like a charm using the VOICE format STV. I give up !!! She has an IBM and I'm using a HP . I'm going to clean the snow and your going to the beach.....:dinesh: Amen
