Solved Installations never finish

Often at the beginning, some installations just don't finish on Windows 8. I wanted to try live streaming using XSplit (Says it's Windows 7 Compatible), that installer freezes at the beginning. I assume there were compatibility issues with Windows 8, so I try FFSplit, an opensource alternative to XSplit that is still in Alpha. Their website literally said that it was Windows 8 compatible. The installer froze with no completion. It has happened with countless others, but until this one claimed to be compatible with Windows 8, I figured all of the programs just weren't compatible.

Edit: Also, I just tried downloading some metro apps, and every one said, "This app isn't available right now. Please try again later" All of them had reviews by people who used them already. I'm running RP (x64) on my HP Pavilion Dv7-6165US (See the System Specs below, as in click on the drop down "System Specs")

bump? I need some sort of answer, even if it's that I'm the only one experiencing this.

Try upgrading to the RTM. I know it's a long shot, but I'm having no problems with it. Tryed XSplit, and it installed perfectly.

I just made a local account and it installed. I don't know if it was the fact that it was local or a problem with my account specifically, but the install worked, and I can use it on my account.

Sadly, there are countless other things that still don't install correctly, but they're not labeled compatible, so I wouldn't expect them to be. I'm probably going to back up again and get my Windows 7 back if there doesn't seem to be any hope of compatibility for some key programs later on.
