I have just bought a brand new windows 8 tablet 8"

I am trying to install NET FRAMEWORK 3.5 without any success. I have tried all the usual methods, googled till my hearts content and pulled my hair out for a number of hours now. This is why i never upgraded my W7 main computer to W8 or W10 it is just awful. Anyway i am stuck with this windows 8 tablet and i need some help please.

There seems to be 2 solutions to it.

1. Delete a couple of windows updates which cause this problem.
= This is NOT possible on my tablet as there is no option to uninstall any of the pre-installed updates.

2. Run a specific command and point it to a windows media CD.
= This is NOT possible as you cant insert a windows disc into a tablet. The internal HDD size also wont allow a virtual mounted media either. Plus i don't have any of these available.

So how on the living earth do i get net framework 3.5 installed on a windows 8 tablet?????

Thanks

I've tried also:

- Uninstalling 2 updates which possibly are preventing NFW installing via command promopt - DOESNT WORK
- Installing NFW via microsoft site - DOESNT WORK
- Download the offline installer of NFW which is over 200mb in size - DOESNT WORK
- Uninstalling the potentially offending updates in windows - DOESNT WORK
- Going to windows features to enable NFW 3.5, and checking the other 2 boxes - DOESNT WORK
- Tried turning off firewall completely - DOESNT WORK
- Tried setting UAC to never notify - DOESNT WORK
- NO antivirus is installed

I AM connected to the net and i AM an administrator.

It seems the ONLY POSSIBLY SOLUTION is to insert a windows 8 disc, which as i mentioned i cannot do that.

Why have they made it so difficult????

Create your windows 8.1 media on a USB stick...

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8

Then run this command from command prompt (admin)

Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFx3 /Source:X:\sources\sxs /all /LimitAccess

Replace X with the drive letter assigned to the USB stick

Tried that now using windows 8.1 iso on a virtual drive.

Does not work either.

Any other solutions???

Tablets do not have usb ports, so i cannot do that.
What make/model tablet do you have? I've owned several Windows tablets and all of them have had USB ports.

Many tablets have a single, micro-USB connector which doubles as a charging port and a USB port. You may need an adapter cable to connect a USB thumb drive or even an external optical drive.
