Video portion of videos won't display in Firefox and IE

I am having a problem with the visual part of videos not appearing in IE and Firefox. For instance, if I try to watch a video on YouTube, I get the audio but not the visual part. All I see for a visual part is either a solid green or solid black. But when I try to view videos in Google Chrome, all is well.

This has happened several times in the past and typically requires me to update Flash Player to resolve. But I updated Flash earlier this week and twice in one week seemed a bit much. However, I did a second Flash update a few moments ago but it did NOT help this time.

Am I going to have to give up on watching videos anywhere but Chrome? Or is there another solution that lets me watch in IE and Firefox again?

I *think* many of the questions to which I've answered "not sure" are irrelevant because it is a laptop but if you need to know specifically what model of cooling fans or keyboard or whatever where built in to the laptop, I can try to find that out if you tell me where to look. I don't see this information in the Windows/System display but maybe it is elsewhere. I'm not sure what a "PSU" is: Powe
