I tried loading windows 8 using the option to save all my files. It worked fine until I loaded Office 2010. Then after reboot, the PC will freeze up, sometime doing an automatic reboot and sometimes no reboot. reboots seldom get through a new login and freeze again.
I completely reloaded windows 8, this time with the "keep nothing" option. works great until I load office 2010. Then, same symptoms as brfore.
I thought I would give this forum a try brfore opting for windows 7 again.

Office 2010 works perfectly on my system. (Despite my hatred of Metro I do use Windows8 as my only OS on my main office machine.)
I have 64bit Windows 8 but use 32bit Office, the same config as I had on Win7. Microsoft recommended using 32bit on both 64and32 bit Windows 7 for the widest compatibility. The only advantage of 64bit office was for really enormous spreadsheets.
Thanks for the testimonials, but I verified that it is the office 2010 (maybe I'm in the wrong forum). I uninstalled office 2010 and the reminder of the system is solid. I wonder if the fact that I have a quad processor CPU is part of the problem.
Is there a more appropriate forum for this problem?
