I have recently installed win 8.1 on the PC.
The problem is that when I start a popular program Irfanview, the screen suddenly fades and goes practically black. I cant even see the opened program to try and reduce its size so that perhaps the same may become visible.
A similar problem was reported here:

The problem was reported with reference to windows 7.
As Irfanview is a popular program which I have been using for long in my previous win XP, I suspect this may have something to do with win8.1 or its setting.
Can anyone please help.
