I am unable to get Flash Player to run in Windows 8.1. I have gone to Adobe's website and used their Uninstaller and than reinstalled FP. In IE under "Manage add-ons" it shows a "Shockwave Flash Object". Also Active X Filtering is not on. In Firefox under Add-ons it shows "Shockwave Flash". Any ideas why I can not get FP to run?

I understate that part, but do you have any ideas why FP won't run.

@huey714
Could you be more descriptive of what you expect to happen?

Like: I went to YouTube, and nothing happens with Flash Player.

IE say's FP is installed. FireFox say's it's installed. However, every time ANYTHING that needs FP will not load. All I get is "Flash Player has crashed. Refresh Page" or words real close to that. Be good or bad I use Incredimail which I can not use because of FP crashing/not loading every time. I can not watch any video on most news sources because FP will not load/run. Not to be a smart ass but what I expect is FP to WORK! Really guys, I need to figure out why FP will not run on my machine. ANY help with this will be greatly appreciated!!!

One method of troubleshooting a browser is to run it in safe-mode or disable all add-on's except for the Flash plug-in.

Another method is to create a new profile for the browser and slowly add the add-on's.

These will determine if there are conflicts.

Then, there is the hardware driver interface. Perhaps a setting was ticked or unticked. And the browser is encountering antagonism. There is a setting within the browser that uses hardware acceleration. I've read that toggling that setting might resolve the one problem (and create new ones!)

I tried running in the safe mode but FP still would non run. I'll try turning off the add-ons see what happens. Thanks for your reply!

sfc /scannow

When run from command prompt(admin)
Will scan for corrupt windows files - should fix FP in IE
