ALL applications are slow to open.

This started about 8 months ago. All programs, Chrome, Steam, TeamSpeak, Vegas, AND items like Windows Explorer, Control Panel take around 15 seconds to open up. It's an inconvenience that really bugs me at times! I got an SSD and it still happens to all programs. I'm running Windows 8.1 and I would love any help with this annoying bug!!

Happens on while on safe mode, right on start up.

Check task manager and resource monitor, when starting tasks. Task manager and resource monitor lists the tasks. If several tasks are starting at the same time, it will take longer for each task to start. If only one task is starting, the task will start faster. Are you starting several tasks at startup automatically?

If browsers start slowly, the website maybe to blame, try loading a simpler page like the Google Search, and using fewer add ins.

Sometimes, defragmenters use up the CPU on startup.

Also, completing the forum's system profile provides forum users with information on why your PC is slow to start.
