Solved Uninstalling HP Energy Star Software

I recently purchased a new HP Laptop and am in the process of uninstalling all the HP bloatware. I am fairly familiar with the stuff HP adds but this Energy Star software is a new one. I have a 1yo HP Desktop and it wasn’t there when I got it new a year ago.

I have Googled it and read what is out there but I still can’t lock in on what it actually does. It seems to provide some power configurations from what I have read. I did see one reference that said it might be difficult to remove through Programs & Features and while that doesn’t bother me as I do all software removal with REVO Pro Uninstaller, I know from previous experience that some of the HP add-ons can be difficult to completely uninstall.

Looking for some feedback from anyone that has actually uninstalled this software.

After hunting around more today I still could not find any specific info as to what this software actually does. This morning I even posted the question on the HP Support Forum and have had zero replies and that is the HP Support Forum so I am inclined to think that it doesn't do much if anything.

The uninstall with REVO Pro Uninstaller was too quick for it to be much of a program and I have not seen any changes or a hint of a problem.

I think it was a good move to remove it. If anything it would probably hose/override any power settings you make. Not worth it IMO to have it put something to sleep or power saving mode you don't want it to.
