Can someone please help me remove NETGEAR Genie? It says its installed under the Desktop area on my Windows Start Screen, but it doesn't under Programs & Features. Can I use a software removal tool? I tried using System Restore, but it failed. Should I try to run System Restore again?

Please help. Help would be greatly appreciated!

If you double-click on the icon on your desktop, does Netgear Genie come up? It may be that the program itself got uninstalled but the desktop icon was left behind. If you get an error saying the program can't be found then it's safe to simply delete the icon from your desktop.

It is supposed to be uninstalled from "Programs & Features", if it's not listed there but you're able to run the program then you need to get something like Revo uninstaller to uninstall it.

Retired in 2015 after working in the tech industry for 41 years. First 10 years as a Technician, the rest as a programmer/software engineer. After 1 year of retirement, I was bored so went back to work as a Robotic Process Automation Consultant. Retired for 3rd (and final) time in 2019.
Thank you for your help. I ran Revo and removed it. It was hiding.
