Hi there - experienced Windows 7 user reluctantly upgrading to Windows 8.1. Two problems with uploading photos from a digital camera:

1) Windows 8.1 doesn't recognise my Panasonic Lumix as a camera. When I connect it via USB it shows up in File Explorer as a "Removable Drive". Hence there's no "Import photos and videos" options when I right-click.

2) If instead I "Open Autoplay" and select "Import photos and videos" it opens the Photos app. This imports all my photos into one folder, named according to the upload date. That's not what I want. I want the functionality I had on Windows 7, where I can import the photos into separate directories named after the Date I took the photos + a tag, and automatically delete the photos from the camera when it's finished. The Photos app seems to have none of the useful functionality of the old wizard. Is it customisable and if so how?

I'm trying to be open-minded about Windows 8 but most of the time it seems to take away lots of useful functionality and give me nothing in return. Colour me unimpressed.
