Software worked fine on Vista. New computer with 8.1, get message

The parameter is incorrect.
I have sent 3 e-mails to Ecoprint, but they have all been ignored.
I have downloaded the latest version from their web-site.
Reading the web it appears to be a programming error, but as I cannot get any response from Ecoprint,
I was wondering if anyone had suggestions.
I understand computer operation, but not programming.
