Hi

I have a surface pro running Win 8.1 and im fairly sure I have up to date Java. I am a bit of a non technical guy but keep my pc up to date. Im trying to install some software (touchgraph) and failing at first hurdle as it throws the error as shown in image below (which says cant locate suitable 32bit JRE). Can you help?

First thing to do might to check and be absolutely sure you have the 32-bit JRE or JDK installed. You might have installed the 64-bit JRE/JDK instead thinking that you needed to use that because you had a 64-bit OS. Both the 32 and 64-bit JRE/JDK should be able to peacefully coexist on the same system, so no need to uninstall one just to install the other.

Thanks both, Asvent that is exactly what I had done. Installed 64 bit as I have a 64 bit machine and assumed that this meant 64 bit trumped 32 bit and I was covered. I now have both and the software has installed

cheers
