anyone now how i can remove this defunct software i have??

So i have this defunct half broken software as when i open it it shows a half screen and dose not seem to work anymore its InstallShield\UpdateService and is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService it has no uninstall that i can see and has been on my pc since 2012 back when i had windows 7 and i know have windows 8.1, i cant seem to find any info on it and i just want it gone as i dont even no what is updates, and it does not ever bug me just runs as a start up. so can anyone help me remove this outdated stuff.

it seams to be part Macrovision Corporation which is now part of flexera software how to remove it please.

1. Download the Update Manager uninstaller and save it to your Desktop.

2. Double click SoftwareManagerUninstall.exe and follow the instructions to uninstall the Software Manager.

cool so how do i do this part ? of it, [FONT=verdana, arial, helvetica]Note: The SoftwareManagerUninstall.exe only removes entries from the Windows registry which are responsible for starting the common software manager after a reboot. No files are actually removed.[/FONT]

[FONT=verdana, arial, helvetica]just delete the folder when it done i also found another one but it appears to not be the one working.[/FONT]
