Hello there, I'm new to this forum and I don't really know if I have posted in the correct section since there are too many threads to check, so I posted here. Apologies in advance for that!

Anyway, as the title says, after I've updated my Windows 8 to Windows 8.1, my Metro Apps won't work anymore. I tried lots of fixes I found on the Net, troubleshooting them, opening the command prompt, sfc/scannow, changing the resolution, going on safe mode and so on (I couldn't really remember what I did). I managed to fix the Store Apps but it's not 100% fixed since I can't download new apps from the store. Oh I also managed to fix Settings although it's not an App but I had trouble trying to open the settings a while ago.

I've tried some of the steps from here --> Apps and Tiles Not Working or Responding: Fix in Windows 8 I couldn't try the rest of the steps since I'm afraid it would cause harm to my laptop since I'm not a professional. I want to try refreshing the PC, but I have lots of softwares and online games that I've installed here and I don't want to reinstall everything again. I would like to try this method --> Refresh Windows 8 - Create and Use Custom Recovery Image but I'm not sure how reliable it is for keeping what I've installed.

Please help and give reliable suggestions that little ol' me can work with! Thanks in advance!
