System monitoring was just added for free users. Are you not seeing it checked? Are youa ble to check or is it greyed?

You may need to do a complete uninstall and reinstall.

I think they were both checked. I unchecked them when a popup came up and said it was monitoring my PC to see if it needing cleaning. I run it each time I close IE. So I don't need something else running to tell me to clean it. I didn't know what it did.

I had it and did not see any real use for it so I disabled it. I already have enough things running in the background.

Happened to me, then it went away, probably right about a bug in it. True i do not need the monitoring enabled.

Have a question about using a program that has Secure file deletion can go up to 7 overwrites. Now is this a good idea to even use 3 overwrites if you have a SSD ? Knowing that excessive writes are not good for it.

For normal use, even one pass is enough so ordinary amateur programs can't restore contents, I imagine that after 3 passes even CIA would have a problem or two. On the other hand, too many writes is not good for spinner HDDs just as much or not more than SSDs. A "Safely erase" of SSD can in some cases even help it's performance.

I am not worried about who can retrieve the data i delete. Doubtful the CIA Forensics would not be able to no matter how many passes these days, but not concerned about that. Exactly as said too many writes usually not good for a SSD life.

So i am figuring one normal file deletion or secure file deletion one or more? As shown in pic. Which would be best for SSD ?

Normal is quite enough, specially with SSDs because Trim and GC (Garbage Collection) take care of writing zeroes instead of deleted files without user even knowing about it. So sooner or later they will be overwritten with zeroes anyway. Almost only time I would suggest doing erase is on files that were involved in malware, either malware itself or files affected by it and for that, even one pass should be enough.
