Windows Media Player 10 question

Hello! Is it possible to install Windows Media Player 10 onto Windows 8.1? Or at least, a workaround to degrade from my Windows Media Player 12?

My findings reveal it not possible to 'rollback' the Windows 8.1 Media Player to a previous version.
Your best bet would be to try a third party application such as:

VLC Media Player:

VideoLAN - Official page for VLC media player, the Open Source video framework!

or, Media Player Classic:

Home ? MPC-HC

Thanks for the links! Which do most prefer? Also, are either simply better or on par with WMP10?

By and large, the more popular choice would be VLC mainly for it's capabilities and versatility; much more so than WMP.
You can also playback DVD's with VLC whereas with Windows you would need Windows Media Center add-on.

Is it possible to use a flash drive in place of external hard drive. I don't have very much to put on there. Also is there any way to check a USB Flash Drive for virus,s. I have heard thay can get virus,s in that case it would be easy for me to throw away USB Flash Drive and start fresh. I have heard flash drives wont keep pictures, I have no clue at all. I messed with flash drive some and how to use them. If theres any easier way to use a flash drive please tell me.
Is all iam aware of insert flash drive in USB port go to computer click flash drive when it open drag files into it you want saved or do copy and paste thing. Thank,s Chuck
