Microsoft OneNote files missing with Computer Reboot

So I recently had some trouble with my laptop - I had to refresh Windows 8, but it ended up wiping out my desktop and start menu and I needed to re install programs like Microsoft Office and Chrome and all that. I use OneNote a lot, and usually when I use it, I just click the icon on the task bar and it opens to the notebook I need (I've always been confused about how to save them and where the files are and all that).

I had a problem with disappearing OneNote notebooks in the past, but went into the App Data folder and found the backup files and it was okay. This time, however, I tried this and no file for my missing notebook is there.

I believe I found an old notebook file from about a year ago, but I'd since made many changes to it, changes which are now gone.

Does anyone know a way I can restore my notebook and find my missing changes?
Thanks

Update: I searched for *.one on my local disk and it brought up a lot of OneNote files. A few were last modified about a week ago, which is what I think I'm looking for, but they're 'cache,' which I don't understand. Is there anything I can do with these 'cache' files? Some are ONECACHE files and some are ONESRVCACHE files.
