ASUS laptop running windows 8
I rarely use Win 8 apps, and run in desktop mode almost exclusively. Was having issues and was suggested I advance the OS to 8.1. That requires Store app. Store app gives a very generic "unable to connect" message with no options.
I've done some research here and tried various things to no avail:
-refresh the store app
-a few cmd things
-restart
-turned off McAfee AND windows firewall
Some suggest doing some type of system restore which claims to wipe out all desktop system apps. No thanks. That seems quite extreme for a program/connectivity issue.
