The BEST screenshot software

No question about it. The best screenshot software available is 'screenshot captor' by Donation Coder. The program is free but they ask for a small donation to the developer. You can't beat this product.

You could always use the built-in Snipping Tool. Just type Snipping on the Start Screen, you should see it listed.

Select the dropdown next to 'New' and click on Full Screen. You can edit with some pen colors and such, then save.

Brink's tutorial, (post#2) is the easiest. After the Prnscn command, you can choose your favourite graphic program to modify and save it.

Use several different computers during a day, so specs are irrelevant.
puush / home is great too. ctrl+shift+4 to take a picture of a certain area, ctrl+shift+3 to take a picture of the whole screen. Also uploads straight to the internet!

A little off topic but not sure if you guys are aware of this built-in utility...

How do I use Problem Steps Recorder?

extremely useful for plotting/troubleshooting users problems - much better tan a simple screen shot.

I know two options that can meet your needs. One is Snipping Tool, you can search it in your Windows 8 and then use it. It allows for taking screenshot and editing it. But note that its editing options is a little bit limited. Another option is this Free Online Screenshot, it can be used for taking screenshots, making edits and sharing screenshots online. But it's web-based. If you wanna keep it for future use, you can download it.
