OneDrive has stopped working

Since the last Windows updates a couple of days, I frequently get "OneDrive has stopped working" messages.

I don't really use OneDrive, but the messages are annoying. I know this is a bit vague, but have anyone else experienced this and know how to fix it?

Running Win 8.1 with Update 1 and all available updates.

Good one. Tnx! Guess this stops the error, but it would be nice to know why?

To be clear, that tutorial just tells you how to remove the folders, not OneDrive itself since it is embedded into Windows 8.1...

In Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1, OneDrive is more deeply integrated at the system level. Your OneDrive folders are now displayed in the navigation pane of File Explorer on the desktop for easier access and management in Windows 8.1. In addition, the OneDrive app will still always be available on your Start screen for access since it can no longer be uninstalled in Windows 8.1.

Crap indeed. Is the Onedrive icon still showing on the taskbar or sys tray and do you have a metered internet connection

Nope, no tray icon. I'm not sure what a metered connection is.

Verify with your lSP (Internet service provider). A metered Internet connection is when a service provider charges by the amount of data sent and received by your PC.

In the Task Manager, processes tab if you see OneDrive Sync Engine right click it, reboot the computer and it may reset itself.

Run sfc /scannow in the elevated command prompt to fix any possible system file corruption.

Ok, done.

Got a message that some error were fixed. Will wait a while and report back if this did it.

EDIT: Got the same OneDrive error message not 5 minutes after rebooting... :-(

You may try it if you wish but basically it is the same as the tutorial I already gave you and I am doubtful it will work. It is to embedded in Windows 8.1

Just double checking but which version of Windows 8 do you have? 8 or 8.1? Being that you mention OneDrive, it should be 8.1 but I make no assumptions here.

Also, being that OneDrive is acting up like you say, you may have an issue with Windows itself. Have you noticed any other problems.. however small they may be?

Also, where'd you get your copy of Windows from?

Lastly I happen to agree with Nuccii about the link you provided for a fix, and the one we have here. Did you even try the link he provided???

Thanks.
