Which backup software do Win 8.1 x64 users use?

I'm one of the traditional type of Windows users who boots straight to their desktop and uses third party software for the most part. Although I am aware of, and do use, the resident backup and imaging tool, 'file history' obviously doesn't include 'app data' which I'm just copying onto an external HDD at the moment.

I'd like to get a backup program that is compatible with 64-bit Win 8.1. I'd really appreciate, therefore, knowing which programs users like me are using.

I Use this. However, the free version will not allow you to backup folders, you'd need to get a pro version for additional features.

I use Acronis True Image 2014 Premium whether for imaging or file back up. It saved my bacon a couple of times.
They have two versions so it is up to you to decide what you want. They are paid versions but IMHO worth it.

As topgundcp has said, Macrium Reflect is also good, but the pro version would better suit your needs.

I find History not so great and have turned it off. There are others out there, see this site for ideas although not up to date.
