Take Webcam Photo on Failed Login Attempt?

Hello,

I just got a new laptop today after having my previous laptop of 7 years stolen in a home robbery last week. Naturally I want to secure this one better than I did that one.

One thing I'd like to do is set up a login security feature that takes a webcam photo when someone tries to login to the computer with the wrong password. Preferably it would send the picture to me in an email as well. I know this feature was available on some previous versions of Windows. I was on Windows XP and this is my first experience with 8 so I have no idea if this is possible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, Miles. I have already signed up and registered with a recover service. I'm more looking for a setting or download that will just take a picture on failed login attempts now. Appreciate the help and resources though.

Since it would run without a successful Login I think it would have to be coded as a service. Although there are some adapters that can run a "regular" program as a service. I don't know how well they work. But you might try:

Please read the rules before posting. If a coder there knows of a program that already does it they may suggest it. If not too development time intensive they may offer to code it up for you. Many nice small utilities have come out of snack requests.

Edit: The site was started to encourage donations to coders, but all programs are either key free or supply a key that works for 6 months at a shot. So there's no hard and fast requirement to donate.
