Hello Romerqazwsx,

It depends on if you use OneDrive or not.

If not, then you could just disable OneDrive integration in Windows 8.1 to completely remove OneDrive.
If you do, then you could set OneDrive Sync Engine Host to "Hide icon and notifications" to not see it's icon in the notification area.

Hope this helps, :)

Process Laso you can nuke this...won't afaik uninstall it but it can/will disable/stop it from running. At least thats what I have done and theres no icon in the notification area and it's not listed any longer as a running process which suits me because I have zero interest in storing anything in a USA based cloud storage solution. I'll just keep backing up/storing Data on HDD's tyvm :)

i love conspiracy theorists! Cant have them government staffers seeing your pr0n amirite! :p

On a more serious note, I dont use onedrive at the moment... but I dont know that it will stay that way. (actually i think i do, i can appreciate the backing up of my windows settings to make a reformat just a "little" less painless)

but I definately dont want a darn cloud in my taskbar, nor do i want a goofy arrow thats supposed to convince me its not down there running anyhow or something?

In all my 15 years of computing.. ive never had an issue with keeping my taskbar 100% clean. The only thing ever to be down there is the clock... Now all of a sudden ive been forced into a cloud, a safely remove hardware icon (which used to only be present if i had a usb stick in, now its there when nothing is in) and after getting a razer keyboard, im stuck with THAT synapse icon as well. This is becoming serious!!

So any way to make it go baibai yet? I noticed the hosts process for syncing which is one and the same.. and hoped it was linked to a service (which it isnt that i can tell) as i planned on setting it to manual and hoping for the best. Alas all ive been able to do is close it but each time i restart its back.. Any autorunning batch file or something that will disable that on startup if placed in the startup folder? You'd be th emost popular guy on the block since microsoft is too dense to add a "show icon in system tray" checkbox or a "run at startup" checkbox.

Yup theres a downloadable doover that nukes Cloud...no more icon anyplace. I've used it and no problems. Google for Disable_SkyDrive_Intergration.reg
small download seeing its a registry entry.
Also if you Google Disable Skydrive theres a thing from MS Technet that runs you through disabling it via Registry and Group Policy Editor...step by step so easy as to follow.:dinesh:
