My computer came with Java installed by default and I uninstalled it, how can I be sure it's 100% uninstalled from my computer? Also I don't think this means Java is on my computer necessarily but in web browsers I notice Java, does that mean Java is on my computer?

Yes. Java never uninstalls completely. You can try installing Ccleaner Free and run it to remove java extras, or reinstall java and install Revo Uninstaller Free to completely remove java (running the advanced uninstall). The benefit of the second option is that it pinpoints java and java only, while Ccleaner will list many different files and things on your computer, not just java, in a list.

Thanks, since I got it disabled on my browser does that mean I'm still susceptible to attacks on Java if it's still on my laptop at all, or does it need to be enabled on my browser for that to happen?

No, it would be found with the registry cleaner. Revo may be easier to use.

Also, with java installed, you will be a tiny bit more susceptible. With it enabled as an add-on, you are extremely susceptible. Even the government says so.

The difference: as an add-on, all you need is to visit a bad site, or a good site that has been compromised. On your computer, it requires you to first download a bad file, or obtain it through email, etc. if you don't need it, remove it. However, I do not think the remnants of the program after an uninstall compromises safety, but I am unsure of the fact. Better to be safe than sorry, so if you want to remove it, I would remove it completely.

If you disable the add-on only, it will not function and will not compromise safety in that way (via web browser). So you have the choice to only enable it when needed, and at other times keep it disabled as an add-on, if it suits you.

I uninstalled it months ago, was just trying to be sure it's 100% gone Thanks :), getting Revo Uninstaller anyways

Thanks, I'm kinda confused with what this means, Screenshot by Lightshot, as in do I need Java installed to make sure I don't got out of date versions?

If you use Revo to uninstall any java you see, you are good to go. That tool above is only used in the event you would like java installed, but not older versions that you might have installed on the system. A simple search in control panel uninstall programs will reveal whether or not you have java (but without an uninstaller like Revo, you may still have leftover files that are not revealed there).

Hi, which uninstaller is the best out of the two if you have tried them both, Iobit or Revo?

I prefer Revo because it works and it is simple to use, and I've never had any problems. Never tried Iobit. Never needed to. I think Revo has a much stronger reputation.

Not trying to persuade you to use Revo, you can use any uninstaller if it works. I was just trying to give you options :)
