SSD Firmware Upgrade Question

Hello, I was wondering if upgrading my SSD's Firmware (Kingston HyperX SSD — SH103S3) would delete any files that are currently on it? and is it worth it?

I would verify with Kingston before doing the upgrade. I have an OCZ Vertex 4 and the firmware upgrade I did on that stated it would delete all data on the drive. I did a full drive backup to a separate drive before doing the firmware update, so I was able to recover.
