Will openoffice 4.0.1 work on windows 8.1 ?

Has anyone tried to use it ?

I have 4.0.0 if that helps any.

Should, I'm using LibreOffice on Windows 7. So many of the apps are working on my test 8.1 box.

There is nothing on the 'net I could find to confirm it is supported in Win 8.1
I did install it last night and did not see any problems at all.

It calls for JRE Runtime for some things to work. I'm very leery about installing it as I remember Java had or has a lot of security problems.

Yeah, don't install Java, I did not and I've had no issues.

I did not think it was a "had to have item" so did not plan to install it and will not either.

I did have it on my Win 7 'puter and when all the problems started coming to light I removed every bit of it I could find. Everything ran fine without it. This was probably a year or more ago.

The answer to my original question is a definite yes !
