Calendar Gadget problem

I have installed the calendar gadget using the Win 8 gadget pack. On the gadget pack dialog box, the calendar gadget is a monthly calendar page with most text in black on a white background, and the current day in red-orange. The installed gadget shows up as a single day page. If I expand the gadget (using two pages, I get both the day page and the month page. I can find no way to shoe just the month page. Can anyone help>
