Please, recommend me some music player app for W8

Hi,
I am looking for a music playback app for Windows 8.1. Preferably something that has:
- Crossfading between songs
- Can handle .m3u playlist files

Any suggestion? I only find some very basic apps, nothing more.
Thanks a lot!

There are plenty of VLC media players in my store, but all seem as basic video playback apps, without crossfading or managing playlists. Moreover, they are crazy expensive (considering what they deliver). But thanks for the suggestion. I will keep looking, and hope I find something until NYE :)

You should download WinAmp before it disappears. A classic. Plus it has lots of user-written audio enhancers and other addons. If you are only looking at metro type stuff you're limiting your choices.

Lots of programs with user comments on: VideoHelp.com - Forum, Guides, Tools and hardware lists

Media Monkey is great (however, it doesn't seem to support crossfading, but maybe I just want too much). Thanks for the suggestion. And yes, WINAMP is the king of all music players. Too bad they don't have a metro app, with all its functionality. Since I am planning to use my Win RT tablet, I will not have the option to run it :(

I see. I'm so used to people just putting "W8" as their specs I got out of the habit of looking. :)
I'm on my first laptop now. I haven't tried any of the smaller computerized thingies. Back in the days when I was making good money they were in their infancy. Blackberry had just come out. Most people used pagers rather than cell phones etc..

In any case, the site I gave should be a good resource. There are extensive audio visual subtitle and hardware forums there. If you can't find something there I'd be very surprised.
