I just saw this on a new HP laptop I am working on, it actually makes a kind of Program Menu, so if you don't want a full Start Menu like Windows 7, you can use this to just have links to your Programs:

The HP Quick Start Application (Windows 8) | HP® Support

Installation Causes a reboot so unless you are ready to reboot, don't install it.

It takes a few minutes to populate the Program Links trhe first time it is run, after that it pops up quick and it can be added to Startup Programs.

Looks good. :thumb:

Yep. It is designed to be a start menu, I've seen it in action. They've made it to add missing start menu functionality back to W8. :) This is a strategy by HP to accommodate more 'classic' users with the new OS. I think other manufacturers may use similar programs.

XweAponX,

A darker window border color and taskbar will fit better with the new start menu's colors. ;)

Those HP sound programs use similar themes...

Maybe I can change the colours. I like the dark blue though.

I guess they made this prog to replace the HP Launch box they had for Windows 7. that would only allow you to put a few programs into it.
