Solved Pin to Start

Firstly, I'd like to apologize if I've put this thread in wrong cathegory, I wasn't sure where to put it.

I have both Win8 and Win7 Ultimate x64, and I have programs and games installed in Win7.
Since I already have them installed, and I can access them on Win8, I don't want to have them installed twice at the same time. Besides, computers are always faster before installing software on it.
I can run almost everything without installing it on Windows 8.
However, software that wasn't installed in Win8 doesn't appear on Start (except for one game for which I have no idea how it got there:think:).
So how can I manually pin it to Start?

Hello Mirac,

Sorry, but you will have to install the programs in Windows 8 as well if you want to be able to run them in Windows 8. :(

But I can run them, well most of them...

And those I can, I don't want to install them again

...the point is, Windows 8 can't read the registry entries created when the programs were installed. Some will run using generic drivers, but some functions may not be available because of the registry entries that are missing. All of the things you want to run in Windows 8 should be installed to build the registry entries.

I'm unable to install some of them, and most of them run on Win8. If I don't recieve help from this thread, I shall do what you tell me.
But, my question is only this:
Can I pin something to Start? If yes, how?

You should be able to go into the program folder and find the .exe file and right click on it and have an option to pin to start menu, it works here.

Then you will have to install in Windows 8 before you will be able to. :(

Ok, but I have one more question.

When I click 'Pin to Start Menu', and right click again it gives 'Unpin from Start Menu' option, if it ain't in start?

I know that when new app is installed, it appears on far right side, so yes, I've scrolled it.

And I just copied the link of what tutorial you've posted.

Anyway, thanks. Problem solved.
