For those who are looking for a replacement for MS Office because of cost restraints Libra Office 4.2.2 beta 1 is now available for download . The site shows only 4.1, albeit 4.2.2 will download.

Hi there.

while this is a good product (and works on Linux too) I don't actually think the website is in any way USEFUL for people who are thinking possibly of ditching Ms Office -- and it makes references to Firefox -- not at all my favourite browser. It doesn't say whether this is a mandatory requirement either.

So the WEBSITE for me merely demonstrates most of the things I've HATED about web designers for years -- people designing things maybe full of a bit of Visual content but lacking any serious USEFUL information. Amazing how many websites are like that !!!

A simple link say to a PDF or HTML doc (or even an EPUB doc) of what Libre Office is, compatibility with Ms Office, some created document examples and the system requirements would be of far more use than what they actually show.

Nothing against Libre Office - especially for an Open Source (and a very good one too) project - but I don't actually find the web site very informative at all.

Cheers
