I downloaded and installed windows 8 DP right but, I didn't do any partitioning. Now, I want to get back to windows 7 home premium because I cant double boot ubuntu. I don't know if i have to buy windows 7 because I already had it on my inspiron duo please help

Might help if you told us your system specs so e know what hardware we are dealing with. My crystal ball is in being repaired.

You should be able to do a factory restore to win 7 if you have not deleted the restore partition. check the owners manual on how to.

if your issue is that you can't double boot Ubuntu and Win DP then you must restore Grub2 to the MBR, you should still have your Live CD/Flash Drive of Ubuntu, right? cause you'll need it in order to do that
