Good Overall/General Computer Benchmark Software?

I'm looking for something decent (free obviously) that's a decent overall machine benchmark software. I've been building computers for a while and I have one in particular that I use (a dual-xeon system) and I'm wondering how it measures up against a 2.66ghz i7 for example. Not just clock speed but overall package - memory + CPU + HDD + video, etc. almost like the "Windows Experience Index" but with something a little more quantifiable and descriptive.

I'm curious to see how the machine's I've been selling actually stack up against a newer one...

Ideas?

Hi winstontj,

Passmark Performance Test is a very good bit of software, it tests every part of the system and gives individual in depth scores for each part.

I am pretty sure it works on Windows 8 as well as 7.

PassMark PerformanceTest - PC benchmark software

There are also sections which show the average scores from other users on the website so you can see what your particular CPU, GPU or Hard drive should be scoring - PassMark Software - CPU Benchmark Charts

I have been using it for years, its free to download and use for 30 days but will lock after that unless you buy it.

Cheers

Paul.
