Rather than roam the Google-Bing foam, and take my chances, I'm wondering if there is a standard viewer for those old CompuServe formatted files.

(Yeah - I'm coming from XP, so missed the whole Win7 era.)

And yes, it's pronounced Jif, having been an original CompuServe user myself – back when online monikers were numbers only.

(Desktop. Couldn't care less about Metro.)

Thank you!

You may be able to find something smaller, but I like IrfanView. It has many options and plugins. Generally good to have. You can do some image editing without getting in deep water. Also it's very configurable with options like single instance etc.. I've used it for years and it's been very stable and reliable.

Oh yeah, and it's free. :)

btw I got in at the tail end of CompuServe. I had an account provided by my employer. All that BBS stuff seems like another lifetime. :)

(The download, via CNET, didn't even try to install a bunch of junk.)

Thanks to both of you for taking the time to reply.

Make sure to get the plugin package too. You'll be glad to have the plugins at some later time. It installs in a couple of clicks. It knows where Irfanview is so it's a no brainer.
